The Bergen series windbreak offers excellent privacy and is perfect for gardening enthusiasts. Its dense pattern effectively reduces visibility, making it ideal for creating secluded outdoor spaces or providing a robust support structure for climbing plants like ivy. This particular model includes an integrated espalier at the top, allowing for a more open design without compromising its plant-friendly features.
Crafted from pressure-treated pine/spruce, this windbreak boasts NTR A/B classification, ensuring superior durability and protection against rot. Pressure treatment is a highly effective method that significantly extends the wood’s lifespan, utilizing only approved impregnating agents that meet stringent Nordic environmental standards. All PLUS posts are NTR class A pressure-treated for maximum resistance to decay.
Designing your windbreak installation involves several key considerations. First, determine its primary purpose: is it for privacy, creating a lush, undisturbed patio with climbing plants, or both? Next, measure the desired size, remembering that you can combine various heights and sloping elements to create a beautifully enclosed space without blocking the evening sun. Also, consider if a gate is needed, especially for households with pets or children, and factor its width into your fence length calculations.
Finally, select the appropriate posts for your windbreak. Recommended posts with suitable dimensions for your chosen fence are typically found under accessories. For a personalized touch, explore compatible gates and sloping elements to create seamless transitions. If you notice drafts beneath the windbreak, decorative stones can be placed along the bottom edge, which also helps prevent soil splashes from staining the wood if it’s installed in a flowerbed.
